Wave hello or goodbye

Last week we watched an amazing history film on the race to creating television. It went from transmitting sound to transmitting images and sound at the same time through the air thus creating television.
It was amazing to see how many people were involved in the race and how many entities it takes to create such a phenomenon. You need the person with the idea, the person with how we can use the idea in some cases, the scientist to create it, and most important the man with the money! People were so in rush to create something that we had no sense of how it worked, the positive and negative affects. Radio waves has been around so long that it's about time that we reveal what's healthy for us and what's not healthy.
What's preventing us scientist and the information from hitting the fan? Well think about it... How many people would make a billion dollar invention, successfully sustain it then reveal to the public that it's not good for you. So many companies are so used to the salaries and lifestyles that they have developed that they refused to reveal information to help people. It's inhumane and it's wrong. Even outside of the technologic realm, it happens with food. We have found that MSG is a cancerous causing artificial flavoring. Instead of figuring out a new flavoring technique companies now display "natural flavorings" in place of the word "MSG." For the readers who are not familiar with MSG or monosodium glutamate. It's a cheaper way to put less food into products. It tricks the consumers tongue into thinking that the food is healthy and protein is present. This process triggers certain instances in the brain and pancreas. And it's also approved by the FDA to label MSG as natural flavors. This is the same process that's happening in the technologic world. It is fun and interesting to advance however is it worth the health of our future.

We are still racing to the finish line with the product in hand but after we break the tape it's too late to "unfinish" what we began.

Q & A Data Storing and Future Preparations

Question #1-Are we prepared for the future?

Answer- I don't think that we are completely prepared for the future. However I think we have a good idea on how to prepare for the future. I feel that we have the resources to better prepare outselves for the future but it's up to us to persue or proactively prepare ourselves rather.

I don't think we are ever fully prepared in each profession we are only human. We as web designers work the same way a medical physician works or chemist. We do not know what is best but we have the intelligence to try different ways... to edit the html code until it gets the write design or correct scripting to produce what we need. Doctors to even produce medicine and try it on human volunteers... we have so many options at our grasp that we really don't have an organized way of trying new technology out except by trail and error... which is exciting at it's introduction but scary on it's tail end after thought.

Question #2 -Can we predict, prevent and design new strategies and technologies to store the increasing amount of computer data that the world generates?

Answer- We will alls be able to predict, prevent and design new strategies to store data. Computer specs increase every year and even within the year to compete with competitors. We are always eventing more useful languages to better store data and to help organize data. Web technology for example, php is a language that helps write code that would take months to write and with a well structured code it produces html that would take months to type or create. It's the same with storing data, as long as we think about the future and plan ahead to figure out what is needed and always educate students and future generations we will have a better hand on generating strategies on storing more data in a more organizational way.

Interactive Television

There is facebook, twitter, & myspace... all of these social net works that peak the interest of people everyday and still a growing trend. The desire to be close to your family and friends has been a growing statistic.

Television has declined on it's ratings for bring family together... we now have dad in the living room for sports, mom up stairs for soaps, and children in there rooms watching tv's as well. So what are we thinking to do to bring families back together... certainly not television you would have thought until researchers decided to develop the interactive television. The interactive television will resemble social networks by being able to see who's watching what and able to suggest things as well. This wouldn't be your facebook but a social network of the people you are close to.

Facebook has already shown us it's power in social networking... now television. I think it will be something that is comforting to be able to share your intimate tv findings with someone close. At first you think it's just another way to began to dominate the social networking or internet technology world but I think this could actually be something positive and relaxing.

The only negative fall there could be is with neighbors watching or inviting someone into you network you don't know like facebook. Strangers send request however we dont' know how much informatio will be giving through the television. I only see advancement.
