Question #1-Are we prepared for the future?
Answer- I don't think that we are completely prepared for the future. However I think we have a good idea on how to prepare for the future. I feel that we have the resources to better prepare outselves for the future but it's up to us to persue or proactively prepare ourselves rather.
I don't think we are ever fully prepared in each profession we are only human. We as web designers work the same way a medical physician works or chemist. We do not know what is best but we have the intelligence to try different ways... to edit the html code until it gets the write design or correct scripting to produce what we need. Doctors to even produce medicine and try it on human volunteers... we have so many options at our grasp that we really don't have an organized way of trying new technology out except by trail and error... which is exciting at it's introduction but scary on it's tail end after thought.
Question #2 -Can we predict, prevent and design new strategies and technologies to store the increasing amount of computer data that the world generates?
Answer- We will alls be able to predict, prevent and design new strategies to store data. Computer specs increase every year and even within the year to compete with competitors. We are always eventing more useful languages to better store data and to help organize data. Web technology for example, php is a language that helps write code that would take months to write and with a well structured code it produces html that would take months to type or create. It's the same with storing data, as long as we think about the future and plan ahead to figure out what is needed and always educate students and future generations we will have a better hand on generating strategies on storing more data in a more organizational way.
